DJ HMD / DR. HMD

DJ HMD · Nasha 2000 · 2000
DJ HMD is Harman Dhillon, a Canadian DJ, music producer and multimedia artist based in Vancouver. His work moves between Punjabi music, hip-hop, electronic production and the culture of the remix.
Beginning in the late 1990s, HMD built a catalogue around the space between musical worlds. Punjabi voices met West Coast rhythms. Later projects moved into jazz, funk, trip-hop, house and psychedelic electronics.
Training in sound engineering and recording arts informed a practice that now spans music production, sound design, video, editing and visual media. The shift from DJ HMD to DR. HMD marks the next stage of that practice, with Nasha Overdose on the horizon.
